How do I place an order?

Browse through our choices of stationery products. You can place orders in the following 2 easy ways:

Ordering thru the web site: When ready to order, click on the Personalize & Buy button (located under each product displayed). Fill-out the form to specify  the text to be put on your Stationery items.  If ordering characters on your stationery, visit the Characters Catalog section to select and customize them (see section below on how to order characters). When you have made all required submissions to the cart submit payment to finalize your purchase.

Order by fax or mail: Download our fax/mail order from HERE. Follow the instructions on this form and fax or mail it back to us.

What types of payments do you accept for your product?

Our company is based in the USA. All our prices are in American dollars. All payments must be in US dollars (US$). We accept all major credit cards, debits electronic transfers, and e-check thru PayPal. Finalized order will be shipped only after we receive payment for services. Therefore if paying by e-checks, the check must clear through PayPal before we finalize the order. We do not accept paper check at this time.

Do you charge extra for cartoon persons?

Yes! Cartoons are ALWAYS optional (even when the posted model for an item is displayed with cartoons.) We charge a small fee of 60 cents per cartoon persons as their customization requires a little extra work.    This is a one time fee is per cartoon characters and separate from the price of stationery items. This means that you can purchase several different types of stationery items within the same order, but you are only charged once for the customized cartoons you order. You just need to tell us which of the stationery items will display the cartoon persons (read about cartoon exceptions above).  This method gives you great flexibility in personalizing each of the stationery item you order.

For example you can order 1 set of 150 themed labels for US$9.50, plus 1 note pads for US$10.80. Then you order 3 cartoon persons to put on your note pad. Your total will be US$22.10 ($20.30 for the stationery and US$1.80 for the 3 cartoon persons). If you change your mind and want 2 of your cartoons persons on your labels too, your order total will still be $22.10.  More over because of the 8 cartoon characters limit, the maximum you will EVER pay for cartoon characters on any order (no matter how many stationery types you buy at the same time)  is US$4.80.

How do I add Paper Follies  cartoon persons to my order?

Cartoon orders must be added to the cart via an order form different from the one you use to customize your stationery items. This is done because you are charged per cartoons only once. and if you order different types of stationery items, you have the flexibility to pick and chose which cartoon should go where. to put on where. If you plan on ordering cartoons do the following. Order cartoons for your stationery items is easy as 1-2-3. 

  1. Go to the Cartoon Persons section then click on the category of the character you want to order (e.g. click on "Woman Cartoon Person" if you are ordering a woman or teenage girl character)
  2. Use the handy order form  to click & choose the customization for your look-alike characters (i.e. click to choose head styles, skin tones, hair color, outfit styles, pet breed etc.)
  3. Add your customized character to the shopping cart. Repeat the process for EACH character to be placed on your stationery items (you can order up to 8 characters in some selected stationery items).  

Once you have added all your customized characters to the cart, proceed to select, customize and add your stationery items to the cart (if you have not done so already).

*Note: If you need to make changes to a character already submitted to the cart, reset the quart quantity to zero for that particular character and update the cart content. Then return to the Cartoon Person section to re-customize and re-submit your character again.

How many Paper Follies cartoon persons can I order for my stationery?

You can order up to 8 Paper Follies cartoon persons (this includes pets) on most of our stationery products (see below list of products for which this limit does not apply).  We fix the limit to 8 because of size constraint.

The stationery products for which the 8 cartoon persons limit does NOT apply are:

  1. Baby Announcements: Limit is 2 cartoon persons for twins
  2. Children's Stickers (both rectangular and round):  Limit is 1 cartoon person for 1 child
  3. All Occasion round gift stickers: Limit is 1 cartoon person per sticker
  4. Small gift stickers ( size: 2x4 inches): Limit is 1 cartoon person
  5. Mini Address Labels (1/2x13/4 inch): No cartoons

How do I order Cartoon Portraits (Cartoon from Photos)?

If you are ordering Cartoons Portraits, there is no need to fill out an order form for each cartoon persons for that portrait (as you would do when ordering stationery customized with your cartoon persons). Visit our Cartoons from photo section and choose a package option. We limit the number of cartoon persons to 30 per cartoon portrait. Then you must email us the file of the photo, or send us a link to it if it's on a web site. If you only have the printed version of the photo, then you must have it scanned then email it to us. Alternatively you can post the printed photo to us via regular mail and we'll return it to you along with your order.

Your cartoon persons are missing some facial features like eyes, nose, or mouth. Why is that?

When designing Paper Follies’ cartoon persons, our goal was to create a signature line of cartoons uniquely stylized while being customizable representations of the real life people they are based upon. In doing so, we chose to have suggestive faces where some features (like eyes, or nose, or mouth) are DELIBERATELY left out while extra details are added to the hair, body, and outfits. The end result is very original and stylish cartoons in which you can see yourself immediately.

Can I just order cartoon persons WITHOUT ordering any stationery?

No. For the moment, we only design our cartoons to be printed on paper (hence the very low price per cartoon). This means that if you order cartoons, you MUST order at least one (1) stationery item for us to print your cartoon (s). If you attempt to submit an order that contains cartoons only, the cart may display an error message.  Read HERE on how you can stop this message and proceed with your order.

I have specific requests for my stationery. Do you accept custom orders?

Of course we do.  We can customize any of the stationery items listed as part of our catalog for your specific needs (i.e. styles, models, graphic types, etc.) We can also special orders supplies if the type of stationery you want is not listed among the types we currently offer. Just tell us what you want by filling our custom order quote request form HERE. We'll contact you promptly to let you know whether or not we can process your order. And if yes, we will provide you a reasonable and competitive quote about your request (read more about quotes below.) Make sure to indicate the quantity desired in your custom order from (read more about order size restrictions here.) For turnaround delivery time on customized orders, see section above about time response on orders.

Important Notice about custom orders quotes:

  1. Custom order quotes are non binding until full payment has been received for the print job.
  2. If final payment has already been received for a job, and the customer wants to change 1 or more of the job specification, we reserve the right to request additional payment to complete the job if required to accommodate the new specifications (s)

Can I see a proof of my stationery  before you ship the final order?

Yes. We can send a FREE proof with all orders. But unless you order cartoons on your stationery, proofs are optional and you must indicate that you want a proof in your order form.  Be aware that the proofing process can add more time to your order processing (2 to 4 days more). However, we recommend all customers to consider that FREE option as we have a non refund policy once the order has printed (read more below about order errors and order cancellations.)

If you ordered by fax or postal mail and requested a proof of your order, we can email you the proofs to the alternate email address you provided on the order form.

Important notice about proof appearance on your screen:
(1)  We put a transparent watermark on proof images to protect our work. Rest assured that your order will NOT be printed with this watermark.
(2)  Because each computer monitor interprets color differently, it MAY happen that the colors in your image proofs are not EXACTLY the same as the final printed items you receive. This is a normal occurrence on which we have no control. In addition, those differences are always VERY slight.

Our proof approval process:
When we send you a proof for preview, it will be in the form of an image file (in JPG format) embedded or attached to an email. We will NOT print your order until we get your approval of the proof by return email.  Be advised however, that the proof approval process can delay your order if we do NOT get your approval in a timely manner (read important notice HERE on how your spam filters can affect this process and ultimately order delivery). 

Choosing not to receive a proof (faster processing):
If you are not ordering cartoons on your stationery, and are comfortable with your order details as submitted in the cart, then you can choose NOT to receive a proof. You order will be processed much faster because we don't need prior approval before printing.  Be aware however of our non refund policy once the order has printed (read order errors and order cancellations here.)

How do you handle errors in orders?

We offer a FREE electronic proof option on all orders before we print them (if ordering cartoons with your stationery, you will automatically receive a proof). The proofing process takes more time (2 to 4 additional days to order processing) but it allows you to notify us of any required modifications to the content of your stationery. If we email you a proof, we will NOT print your order until you approve the proof. If you ask for changes after reviewing the 1st proof, we will email you a revised proof to review and approve. We can make as many changes, and send as many revised proofs that you require until you are satisfied with the proofs.  However if we already printed your order because you gave us your FINAL approval, or because you chose not to receive a proof (for faster order processing), no refunds or free reprints will be made as a result of either:

  1. Errors that you did not catch or report during the proofing process; or

  2. Errors you made while entering your order details in the cart and that you did not notice because you chose not to receive a proof.

How do I cancel my order?

Fees paid for printing services are fully refundable ONLY if the order is cancelled BEFORE printing takes place. No fees are refundable in any amount after the stationery items are already printed. We do not accept returns or issue refunds on printed stationery items because they are personalized for each customer.

You can cancel an order at any time during the proof revision process and you'll get a full refund on the amount paid. If you have already provided your FINAL approval on a proof, or if you opted not to receive any proof, you have up to 24 hours to modify or cancel your order. After this 24 hours period, the no-refund rule will apply as printing of your order will have already started.

I have placed my order or I have submitted an approval/or revision for my order proofs several days ago. You still haven't replied. What's going on?

If you either placed an order or submitted your approval/revision on your  proof and have not heard any confirmation from us after 72 hours, please contact us through our web contact form HERE.  Or email us:

*NOTE ABOUT ORDER DELAYS CAUSED BY SPAM FILTERS*:

We have had issues on occasion, when after placing their order, customers did not receive any messages from us  (i.e. no receipt acknowledgement, no email with proofs for their approval, etc.). In nearly all cases, this happened because the overly protective SPAM filters used by these customers' email account was either blocking our messages, or sending them straight to the customers' spam/junk mail folder (a folder that often many people never check). This caused delays in order processing and of course complaints from customers. Unfortunately, we at Paper Follies have ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL on how your email spam filters may handle our messages. Only you, the mail box owner, can help control this.

To avoid potential order delays and ensure that you receive ALL Paper Follies' email correspondence after you place your order, please add our email address "orders@paperfollies.com" and/or our domain "paperfollies.com" (without the quotes) to the list of approved senders and/or domain in your email filters.  In addition, if you do have a spam/junk mail folder, we also strongly recommend that you check it
often for messages from "paperfollies.com" AFTER you placed your order for just in case.

How long will my order take?

When you place an order you should immediately get a receipt notification containing your order details.

Order processing & delivery turn around time if you DO NOT request a proof
If you selected the standard FREE delivery option (delivery within the US only), please allow us about 2 weeks (it most often takes less) to process, print & ship your orders. If you select Priority or Express shipping, this time will be reduced by 3 to 5 days (based on the delivery option selected).  If you live outside the US, delivery time (standard or Express) will vary. Please read section about shipping fees and postal delivery time for further details.

*Note: Not ordering a proof reduces turn around time but be aware of our non-refund policy here)

Order processing & delivery turn around time when a PROOF MUST BE PROVIDED before printing
If we need to send you a proof for your approval, we will email it to you within 72 hours (this waiting period can slightly vary depending on our order load)  for your review. We will NOT print your order unless you submit your approval of the emailed proof (read here very important information on issues that can delay the proofing process therefore your order). After we receive your FINAL approval on a proof,  please allow us up to 10 days to process, print & ship your orders (though it most often takes less time than 10 days). If you select Priority or Express shipping, delivery time will be reduced by 3 to 5 days (based on the delivery option selected).  If you live outside the US, delivery time (standard or Express) will vary. Please more about shipping fees and postal delivery time here.

*Note:  Stationery orders that include cartoons always require proof approval. Therefore, they always have a longer turn around time.

If you placed a custom order and requested a stationery type different than the types we currently offer, turn around delivery time may be longer if we have to special order some supplies or services before printing. We will advise you by email about delivery time of your custom order.

How much do you charge for delivery and can my order be rushed for earlier delivery?

Cost of shipping and delivery time varies based on the delivery option you choose and on the destination country. Estimated delivery time listed on the table below is based on the schedule/timetable of the United States Post Office, which is the mail carrier that we use.)

Do you ship to all countries?

Why is there a maximum order size in the order form of some products?

Paper Follies is a small company that specializes in small orders (generally for personal use). This allows us to give premium personalized  service to ALL our customers. On occasion, we can accommodate larger order sizes of certain items however with some limitations due to capacity restrictions. If ordering in quantities significantly larger (or smaller) than the maximum (or minimum) listed quantity of an item, use our custom order form to describe what you want and the quantity.

*Notice about international orders (delivery outside the USA) :  Due to custom regulations, further restrictions/limitations may apply to the quantity of items to be shipped outside the USA

How secured is this site?

We want your shopping experience with us to be super safe. Our site is secured by an encryption code that ensures that our domain control has been validated by an independent authority. When you go the shopping cart to complete your transaction you will see a "https://" prefix in the URL and a key or padlock icon in your browser's status bar. This is the sign that you are in a secure area. Transactions between your browser and our site are always 128-bit encrypted and secure. Your sensitive information remains private.

I don't have a PayPal account. How can I pay online with my credit card or from my bank account?

Not a problem. You can make purchases via Paypal using your credit cards and/or electronic checks without having to open a Paypal account.

However, if you are paying your order with a Paper Follies gift certificate (issued by Paypal), you MUST have Paypal account. Read more about gift certificates here.

Do you offer gift certificates or can you ship orders as gift to a third party?

Yes! If you want to send a Paper Follies gift you have the following 2 options:

  1. Buy a PayPal / Paperfollies gift certificate for the recipient. S/he can purchase the items her/himself using normal procedures and use the code of the gift certificate at time of payment through Paypal.
    *PLEASE NOTE: The recipient MUST have a Paypal account to use and redeem the gift certificate. Signing up for a personal Paypal account is totally free. Read more here.
  2. Purchase the item(s) yourself and indicate the name and shipping address of the recipient (be advised that shipping fees will apply based on the destination or delivery type). We will add a gift note to the delivery package.

If you get the message "ERROR! Return to site to complete order" when using the cart, it is probably because you ordered cartoons WITHOUT ordering any stationery items. In that case, you must return to www.paperfollies.com to order at least one (1) stationery item for us to print your cartoon on (read more on why you get this message HERE).

Paper Follies Vs Stickerfollies: Why do I see BOTH of these names associated to this website?

Paper Follies and StickerFollies are the same company. When we first launched this website, we trademarked our cartoon characters and stationery lines (comprised mostly of stickers and self-adhesive labels) under the name of Stickerfollies, However as our product line quickly grew, we decided to switch the name to Paper Follies which better reflects the variety of items that we now offer.
